Join us for an afternoon of presentations, fishing videos, give-aways and more! Presentations at 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

This year, Fish On! is moving to a one-day event featuring two speakers, fishing videos, door prizes, and more.

Starting at 1:00pm- A Season In Review: A New England Potpourri with Captain Joe Welch

Back in February, 2010, at the invitation of Capt. Skip Montello, Joe Welch shared "A New England Potpourri," an outline and overview of a typical New England fishing season.  As a speaker on a snowy Tuesday night, Joe shared slides and pictures of shad, trout, freshwater panfish, and a variety of saltwater species. Now, some 15 years later, Captain Joe, a native of the Merrimack Valley, followed his passion all the way to Olde School Charters and his rebuilt 1985 20' Seacraft.

In this presentation, Joe will again share his experiences chasing multiple species in and around the waters of New England, but from the perspective of a seasonal charter captain. In "A New England Potpourri, Part Deux," Joe will share stories of catching groundfish - like haddock, cusk, and Acadian redfish - mackerel - our favorite bait fish, and the stars of our season, striped bass, bluefish, and bluefin tuna, from April to November. With a few anecdotes, tricks, and tips learned along the way, Joe will share places and techniques to experience some of the best saltwater fishing our region has to offer.

Starting at 3:00pm- Big Bass without Bunker! with Captain Ron Powers

Bay State big bass have in recent years proved easy to find when “pogies” are prevalent and not so much when the bait isn’t available. On The Water columnist Ron Powers shares tips and tricks to help put you onto big bass without live-lining bunker!

In between the presentations, enjoy fishing videos from On the Water, a chance to win a door prize, and time to socialize with fellow fishing enthusiasts.

Please register to receive reminders and updates about this event. In the event of inclement weather, a snow date of Saturday, March 1st has been reserved.
