Memorial Hall

Please note that this concert was originally scheduled for January 26th and has been rescheduled to March 9th.

Join us for a musical performance from Singular, featuring pianist Terri Kelley and vocalist Bill Donelan, featuring songs from the Great American Songbook.

This concert will feature songs by such composers and lyricists as George and Ira Gershwin, Ned Washington/Victor Young, Bernstein/Sondheim, Rogers/Hart, Kern/Hammerstein, Cahn/Stein, Hoagy Carmichael, and several others. This music was popularized by performers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Nat Cole, Tony Bennett, Chet Baker, Bill Evans, Nina Simone, and other luminaries of 20th century American popular music. There will be a few surprises sprinkled in as well!

Terri Kelley began piano studies at age 3 with her father, a professional musician. She continued classical music studies throughout her life with various teachers. She holds B.A. and M.A. degrees as well as several diplomas in piano performance. Terri performed Celtic music with her late husband George from 2003 to 2015. She was Artistic Director of the Catherine McCarthy Memorial Trust Concert Series, as well as The White Fund Concert Series from 2004 to 2019. In 2008, Terri was honored with the Eartha Dengler Award for her cultural contributions. Terri is the author of two books, Piano Is Our Forte, and Music Theory For Pianists, and is also the host of the Andover TV program, Music Matters. She performs as a solo and duet pianist, as well as an accompanist. Terri teaches piano, organ, and voice privately in Andover.

Bill Donelan is a versatile Baritone, at home in musical theater, the recital stage, and performing at private functions.  He has performed public recitals of music by Franz Schubert and Gustav Mahler. For the last 5 years, he has performed a traditional Celtic Music concert (with Terri Kelley) sponsored by Division 8 of The Ancient Order of Hibernians. Praised for his outstanding tone and diction, he has delighted area audiences with a wide repertoire of songs for more than 20 years.

This concert is sponsored by the Friends of Memorial Hall Library.
