Join curator Gordon Wilkins to explore the work of the Florida Highwaymen in this gallery tour.

The Florida Highwaymen was a loosely affiliated group of 26 African American landscape painters who sold their vivid and expressive tropical scenes door-to-door and out of the trunks of their cars along the coastal roads of Eastern Florida from the 1950s through the 1980s.

Making Their Way: The Florida Highwaymen Painters will be on display at the Addison Gallery of American Art from September 9, 2025- January 4, 2026.

Space is limited and registration is required. Please cancel your registration if you are no longer able to attend.

Please note that this event takes place at the Addison Gallery on the campus of Phillips Academy.
