Enjoy a special evening with two of the country's top young adult authors as Maureen Johnson (Nine Liars) is interviewed by Jennifer Lynne Barnes (The Final Gambit), in this ZOOM webinar.
Maureen Johnson is the #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than a dozen young adult novels, including the "Truly Devious" series, the "Shades of London" series, "Suite Scarlett," and "13 Little Blue Envelopes." In this program, she will be discussing her newest book, "Nine Liars."
About Nine Liars: Senior year at Ellingham Academy for Stevie Bell isn’t going well. Her boyfriend, David, is studying in London. Her friends are obsessed with college applications. With the cold case of the century solved, Stevie is adrift. There is nothing to distract her from the questions pinging around her brain—questions about college, love, and life in general. Relief comes when David invites Stevie and her friends to join him for study abroad, and his new friend Izzy introduces her to a double-murder cold case. In 1995, nine friends from Cambridge University went to a country house and played a drunken game of hide-and-seek. Two were found in the woodshed the next day, murdered with an ax. The case was assumed to be a burglary gone wrong, but one of the remaining seven saw something she can’t explain. This was no break-in. Someone’s lying about what happened in the woodshed. Seven suspects. Two murders. One killer still playing a deadly game.
Jennifer Lynn Barnes is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of more than twenty acclaimed young adult novels, including "The Inheritance Games" trilogy, "Little White Lies," "Deadly Little Scandals," "The Lovely and the Lost," and "The Naturals" series. Jen is also a Fulbright Scholar with advanced degrees in psychology, psychiatry, and cognitive science. She received her Ph.D. from Yale University in 2012 and was a professor of psychology and professional writing for many years. Her most recent title is "The Final Gambit."
This program is in collaboration with Tewksbury Public Library and other local libraries. Please note this program is open to both adults and teens.
