A virtual presentation facilitated by staff from Compassion and Choices to discuss the topic of medical aid in dying and what it might mean for terminally ill patients.

Ten states and the District of Columbia have passed legislation allowing terminally ill patients, who meet very stringent criteria and oversight, to obtain medical treatment options to hasten their deaths, ending the potential for protracted, needless suffering. Please join us via Zoom for an in depth look at this often volatile, emotionally laden topic. This evening’s conversation will be facilitated by staff members and volunteers from Compassion and Choices of Massachusetts and will include personal stories from those who wished they or their dying spouses could have availed themselves of this vital medical option.

Bills for passage of this legislation have languished in the Massachusetts’ State House for years and there is now a renewed effort for review and enactment during the current legislative session. Learn more about this significant legislation during this presentation, which is part of a quarterly series ‘You’ve Been Dying To Know About …’ conceived of and moderated by long time Andover resident, Richard Davis.
