Join us for an in-depth discussion about hospice care.
Over the past few decades, hospice care has become a more familiar part of our collective vocabulary and experience, yet many of us still don’t fully understand its purpose, scope, costs, availability, and more.
Hospice is a philosophy of care that focuses on the patient’s care and comfort, rather than curative measures. Hospice care serves patients with a life expectancy of 6 months or less, as their disease runs its natural course. Hospices provide symptom management and comfort care. Curative measures involving aggressive treatment are normally not pursued.
To help us better understand the above, and to provide an interactive platform for your questions and concerns, please join us via Zoom for a one hour, in-depth conversation about this important topic.
We will be joined by Dr. Bernice Burkarth - Chief Medical Officer and Chaplain Eric Redard - Director of Volunteers, Chaplaincy and Bereavement Services for Tufts Medicine Care at Home.
This presentation is part of a quarterly series ‘You’ve Been Dying To Know About …’ conceived of and moderated by long time Andover resident, Richard Davis.
The program will be recorded and a link to the recording will be shared with everyone who registers for the event.
