This is an open meeting of the Foster's Pond Corporation with a featured presentation by Maura Genova on the Hidden World of Beavers.
Few animals can change entire landscapes like beavers. American Beavers are incredible wetland engineers and can be found throughout Massachusetts transforming their habitats. This presentation will cover beaver family life, range, lodge and dam maintenance, their contribution to biodiversity, and how to co-exist with them.
Our speaker: Maura Genova is an Adult Educator and Camp Director at Mass Audubon’s Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. A passionate naturalist with over 10 years of teaching experience, Maura leads and coordinates adult bird walks, paddle excursions on the Ipswich River, and other natural history programs on topics including vernal pools and mammals. She also trains adult volunteers and manages, trains, and supervises Camp staff engaged in natural history interpretation.
The public is invited to this event. This event is co-sponsored with the Foster's Pond Corporation.
