Why Trees Matter
How Urban Forests Support Climate, Wildlife and Human Health
Saturday, April 11
10:00am - 12:00pm
Join us for a talk exploring the importance and impact of urban trees in Andover and beyond.
Urban trees play a vital role in shaping healthy, resilient communities. From cooling neighborhoods and reducing stormwater runoff to supporting wildlife and improving mental well-being, trees are one of our most valuable — and often overlooked — public resources.
Nicole Forsyth will share current insights on how trees help mitigate climate change, why native trees are essential for local ecosystems, and how access to green spaces supports mental health and quality of life. The program will also highlight practical ways residents can care for, protect, and advocate for trees in their own neighborhoods. This event is open to all and designed for residents of all backgrounds — homeowners, renters, students, families, and anyone interested in the future of our urban forest.
